The drumstick tree, better known as moringa, is a fast-growing tree native to the foothills of the Himalayas in northern India, named for its long, slender seed pods. Its dried leaves brew a mild, green, grassy cup with a gentle spinach-like taste and a light earthy finish. Moringa blends easily with green tea, lemongrass, mint, ginger and citrus in herbal blends. It is also popular whisked into smoothies and lattes, and it tastes crisp and fresh when served iced.
