Description
Bancha Ujitawara – Light, Refreshing Everyday Japanese Green TeaOur quality Bancha Ujitawara comes from Tsuzuki District, Ujitawara, in Kyoto Prefecture. Bancha is a beloved everyday Japanese green tea, harvested after the first spring picking used for sencha. This later harvest, starting in summer, includes the larger leaves and upper stems usually left out of sencha production. The result is a gentle, easygoing green tea that's less fragrant and slightly more astringent than young sencha, with a fine, light and clean flavor. Bancha is wonderfully refreshing and is known in Japan as a palate cleanser after meals. It's also naturally lower in caffeine than many green teas. Tasting Notes
